Biography

Alex’s interest in social language, paired with his dedication to helping others, led to a passion for working with people who stutter. He was drawn to the holistic, struggle-free, and acceptance-based approach at AIS and is excited to help people who stutter become their most confident and authentic selves.

Received his Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Vermont, and received his bachelor’s degree in Linguistics with a minor in Spanish.

Conducted a systematic review in graduate school analyzing the benefits of acceptance-based approaches for stuttering, comparing them to fluency-based treatments.

Especially enjoys navigating the nuances of language that come with stuttering therapy, and is dedicated to finding ways to best support each individual client.

Appreciates learning new languages, and applies his background in Spanish to connect and communicate with others from different backgrounds.

Is an avid soccer player and animal-lover who enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, going to the beach, and playing volleyball.
