Holistic Stuttering Therapy: Clinical Decision Making and Applications

This two-day workshop (November 1st - 2nd, 2024) is designed specifically for Speech-Language Pathologists who have a working knowledge of various approaches in therapy for people who stutter and who wish to develop advanced expertise and skills in clinical decision making.

Participants will engage in collaborative analysis and problem solving using simulated case studies. Participants will learn practical applications of Motivational Interviewing, avoidance reduction techniques, parent-child interaction strategies and cognitive-behavioral therapy that they will immediately be able to apply to create maximally effective, individualized and holistic stuttering therapy.  

Day one will focus on clinical decision making in therapy for preschoolers and school-aged children, with day two focused on clinical decision making in therapy for teens and adults.

This Intermediate-level continuing education workshop will provide a total of 1.1 CEUs.
