AIS is proud to participate once again in StutterFEST, a FREE 24-hour live stream of presentations from support-group organizations, researchers, professionals, and people who stutter.
LA Clinic Director Gregory Scott will be presenting on how stuttering might fit—either nicely or not so nicely—into the greater worldview of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Does stuttering "count" as diversity? As a disability? Together, we'll weigh the benefits and pitfalls of using the rhetoric of DEI to "frame" one's stuttering, both in terms of advertising it to the outside world, as well as internally thinking about one's identity.
