The stuttering community marks the second week of May as National Stuttering Awareness Week. This NSAW, we have a variety of events and other ways you can help spread awareness, open the door to conversations about stuttering, and shed negative stigma.

1. Stuttering Scavenger Hunt

New York City | Tuesday May 7th6:30PM - 8:00PMHave you ever participated in a stuttering scavenger hunt? Not sure what that is? Meet at AIS NYC office to join the fun. A FREE and OPEN event you won't want to miss.

2. Open House

New York City | Wednesday May 15th7:00PM - 8:30PMJoin us for a very special FREE Open House! This is a great opportunity to educate others about stuttering so we encourage you to bring your friends and family along. You will hear from some of our clients, learn more about the therapy at AIS and have your individual questions answered. This event is open to all.

3. A Great New Handout

Looking for another way to spread awareness on your own? Print this handout to educate others about stuttering. Leave copies at parks, on public bulletin boards, and give out to people at school, the office, or anywhere else you can think of!

4. We're Still Looking for Help With Our Research Study!

Our Research Survey is still open. We are researching what the public knows about stuttering, and we need your help to share the study with people in your life who don't stutter. For many, it has created a wonderful opportunity for conversations about stuttering.Special thanks to the National Stuttering Association. In 1988, their group members played an instrumental role in establishing NSAW by an act of congress.--The American Institute for Stuttering is a leading non-profit organization whose primary mission is to provide universally affordable, state-of-the-art speech therapy to people of all ages who stutter, guidance to their families, and much-needed clinical training to speech professionals wishing to gain expertise in stuttering. Offices are located in New York, NY and Atlanta, GA, and services are also available Online. Our mission extends to advancing public and scholarly understanding of this often misunderstood disorder
