Recently, an article was published in the ASHA Leader regarding stuttering and the search for its genetic link. In 2010, Dr. Dennis Drayna published research in the New England Journal of Medicine that revealed three genetic mutations in the brain cells of people who stutter. Since then, many questions have been posed in regards to his findings. This recent article in the ASHA Leader presents an interview of Dr. Drayna where he is asked many of these common questions.
