Next time I want you to show the more realistic scenario— stopping at at least 6 floors and crowded…..just so everyone can see how long it takes for the doors to open and close too.
Exciting stuff!!!

Make sure you hit the ‘Door Close’ button or each time the elevator stops, you’ll have to wait a good 8 to 10 seconds for the door to close!
On a positive note, I can usually read and respond to a few emails on my iPhone during my morning ride up the elevator.
This video is hilarious Eric. Nice work.

Great job Eric! Very funny! I even showed my friend Katie this video.

Chamonix – I’m kind of glad it was just me at first. One of our neighbors might have called security about some strange guy filming the elevator.
Carl – Good point! I press ‘Door Close’ probably 33 times every time someone walks out. It’s like a finger workout.
Sarah – Thanks for spreading the word!

But if you’re lucky, Sting will come at the beginning of your elevator ride and then you’ll be glad that your building has the slowest elevator of the island.

Great point, Amanda. Promoting possible elevator rides with celebrities is good for business. Hmm…

Lots of people in the music, film, and tv industries work in our building. You never know when a celebrity is going to be in the building. Runway models too, especially right before fashion week!

ahhh, you took the express
too funny.

Carl – I look forward to a serious uptick in clients before Fashion Week.
Rose – Thank you.

I just hope that music on the video is not the real elevator music, because being forced to listen to that would be likely to kill someone!
Comment by Mark — January 27, 2010 @ 2:31 am
Haha – the music was my interpretation of what would likely be playing if the elevator had music.

So true. so funny. Amongst the worst elevators! I remember when one was out of order and we just got in the habit of walking down 12 flights instead of waiting. Or at least I did.

LOL! Eric! Only you would do something like this….
Thank you for breathing life into the biggest inside joke in AIS history

I had one kid in my group who used to take the steps every day.
Comment by David — February 12, 2010 @ 9:14 am
Jody – I need to time the walk down the stairs to see which is faster. Assuming that the elevator will stop at least twice on the way down, I think that the stairs win.
Aman – Thank you!
David – My calves are burning just thinking about that.
Comment by Eric — February 12, 2010 @ 9:23 am
The stairs do win. I’ve beaten the elevator down several times… sad to say.
Comment by Carl — February 12, 2010 @ 10:33 am
I take the stairs down on most days, I always beat the elevators. I’m not a fan of crowded elevators anyway and with how slow these are…..at rush hour, it’s always a crowd! Stairs aren’t so bad! Good workout. It’s going UP that makes you burn.
