Chamonix and Carl say hi from ASHA

By Eric, 6:00 pm

The 2009 ASHA Convention was held last week in New Orleans. Chamonix and Carl went down to The Big Easy to meet with colleagues and share their expert knowledge of stuttering therapy through their presentations.

Here’s a little video of them saying hi from ASHA. Coming soon, we’ll post info on both what they taught and what they learned during the convention.

  1. Hi,

It was nice to hear that AIS is taking an interest in school age children who stutter and providing information on this. As an adult who was a child who stuttered I certainly could have used this help in school. As it was, I was assigned to see the school speech pathologist whose recommendation was to act and speak as if I was somebody else! Needless to say it didn’t help. I think, however, it would be great if AIS could describe what was written on the chart which was presented in order for people to know what kind of information appears on the chart. As AIS is a nonprofit organization I think that it would be very nice if AIS would actually put the chart in a readable form on the AIS website. This will enable people to immediately start to apply it with their children and possibly on themselves Otherwise the video might be seen only as an advertisement to take services at AIS with Chamonix. This would also enable people to have an idea of what they would receive at AIS before paying for services which can mount into the thousands of dollars. Thank you for your consideration.
